Teddi Mellencamp Talks Dorit Kemsley Finally Reaching Out

Teddi Mellencamp has been navigating a difficult and emotional journey after revealing that her cancer has now progressed to Stage 4, with metastasis to her lungs and brain. In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Teddi shared the painful details of her diagnosis, as well as the support she’s received from friends and fellow Housewives during this challenging time.

    The Support of Fellow Housewives

When asked about whether the Housewives had rallied around her, Teddi Mellencamp opened up about the support she’s received from some of her co-stars, but also revealed some surprising moments. “Garcelle [Beauvais] has not reached out. Dorit [Kemsley] has now,” she shared. “I’m good friends with Erika [Jayne], so she said, ‘Dorit does want to reach out to you now, can she?’ I [said], ‘don’t know how quick I’ll be to forgive, but sure.’ But then her message was so nice that I have to say we’ll probably be fine.”

Teddi also reflected on the ongoing support from her close friends. “Kyle has been there nonstop,” she said, emphasizing the importance of her bond with certain Housewives during this time. One unexpected gesture came from The Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson, who reached out with a thoughtful gift. “My favorite part about Vicki reaching out is she sent a Housewives coloring book that I’m not in. [Laughs]” Teddi said. “Denise [Richards] reached out, which was also a little bit of a shocker.”

    Dating Again Amidst Adversity

Despite her diagnosis, Teddi Mellencamp has continued to navigate her personal life, including venturing back into the world of dating. “I’ve been dating again. How are you meeting these guys? On Hinge,” she said with a laugh. However, she also mentioned her ongoing waitlist status for the exclusive dating app, Raya. “Excuse me, Raya, why am I still on the waitlist? I have five referrals! I realize that maybe I’m slightly controversial, but I’d appreciate you letting me in ‘cause I’ve seen some of the other people [on there] and they seem like even bigger trainwrecks than me. [Laughs]”

When it comes to her dates, Teddi shared some comical and candid moments. “There’s only been two guys I’ve actually gone on dates with. The first one asked me if I wanted to have more kids, and I was like, ‘I’m in the hospital. This isn’t really the right time, bud. I have a head wrap on. I just learned my own birth date.’ But the other guy is super nice, super sweet, kind — exactly what I need right now.”

    Looking Forward to the Future

Teddi’s resilience shines through as she discusses what she’s looking forward to after her treatment. “Just the regular stuff, back to normal. I want to try new things, travel more with the kids, keep building a life and doing the best that we can, and have fun together. That’s my goal.”

Through it all, Teddi remains hopeful, focused on rebuilding her life after cancer and cherishing the everyday moments with her loved ones. Despite the challenges, her humor, strength, and determination to move forward remain unwavering. As she continues her fight, Teddi’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of support, resilience, and living life to the fullest.
