Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar, has been announced as India’s official entry for Oscars 2020. The film, co-starring Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi in lead roles, premiered at Berlin International Film Festival. After its release in theatres in February, the social media was flooded with positive reviews for the film.
The news was shared by the film’s producer Farhan Akhtar on social media. Farhan, in a tweet, wrote, “#GullyBoy has been selected as India’s official entry to the 92nd Oscar Awards. #apnatimeaayega.Thank you to the film federation and congratulations #Zoya @kagtireema @ritesh_sid @RanveerOfficial @aliaa08 @SiddhantChturvD @kalkikanmani & cast, crew and hip hop crew.”

Soon after he shared the news on Twitter and Instagram, fans couldn’t help but send congratulatory messages and good luck wishes to team Gully Boy. Many of them celebrated the movie and others pointed out how proud the film makes Indians feels.
Amidst all the congratulatory messages, many Bollywood celebrities, too, poured in special messages for the film’s team. From Hrithik Roshan, Dia Mirza, Karan Johar, Anubhav Sinha to Aditi Rao Hydari and Uday Chopra, many celebs posted good luck messages on social media.
