He wrote, “I wanted to do this film knowing it would be against the odds. I wanted to do it for all the wrong reasons to make a film but they just seemed so right and still do. It’s been an emotional roller coaster more than anything else and I know how hard it’s been for everyone. Irrfan Khan, you are incredible … and you’re a decent actor as well.”

He added, “I love you more than I know how to say. Thank you to my crew and cast for not letting the odds stack up against us. I truly believe that our collective positivity and celebration of life allowed us this. Regardless of this film’s fate, it’s shown me a lighter way of being and I’ll always cherish this.”

A source close to the development told Hindustan Times, “The crew has been very kind. While Irrfan himself has ensured he follows shooting schedules, the crew also is being considerate and keeps him on set for a certain amount of hours. The scenes are planned in a way to ensure Irrfan’s time is best utilised.”

Since Irrfan’s treatment was going on when he was shooting in London, the crew decided that he should stay near his doctors in the city. “Since Irrfan underwent his treatment in London, it’s only good for him that he is close proximity to his doctors and other facilities. Also, the crew has been briefed well on his needs and they ensure that they adhere to it completely, the source told the daily.

Angrezi Medium is a sequel to Irrfan’s 2017 film Hindi Medium, which was directed by Saket Choudhary. The actor shared the screen with Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, who played the role of his wife.

Angrezi Medium also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan. It will release on April 24, 2020.
