I am what I am today because of 'Naagin', says Mouni Roy

If there is one actress who has successfully managed to shift from the small screen to the big screen it is Mouni Roy. The actress who first started off in the industry back in 2007 has found her feet and owes it all to the varied roles she has played till date. The stunning actress has a steady fan base and a huge social media following. The paparazzi, too, make sure to catch a glimpse of the actress when she is out and about in the city.

From Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev in 2011, Mouni has seen a steady rise in her career and credits her sheer hard work for the same. However, it was Naagin in 2015 that gave Mouni her big break and an even bigger fan following. Now, that the actress has shifted her focus on films, the actress was quizzed about the transition from TV to films and whether it was tough.

Speaking to TOI, Mouni said, “Not really. I bagged ‘Gold’ when I wanted to migrate from television to movies.” Mouni made her debut with Gold opposite Akshay Kumar last year. The actress added that after the move her focus has purely been films. She said, “I am what I am today because of Naagin. That show is popular and I hope that it continues for many years. But for now, I am only focusing on films.”

Unlike the rumours, Mouni clarified that she has got all her parts based on merit and she auditioned for each and every role. In the coming year, Mouni has Made In China with Rajkummar Rao and Brahmastra in the pipeline.
