Jahnvi Kapoor is on a roll and how! No wonder she is called Karan’s favourite after Alia Bhatt. Post her debut film Dhadak, she had signed two films of Karan Johar – Takht, and Kalank both period dramas.
A source close to the development, told the portal, “Karan Johar thinks Janhvi has the right posture and attitude to play Gunjan Saxena. No, Janhvi won’t actually fly a helicopter in the film. But she is going to learn how the helicopter works so she looks comfortable inside a helicopter.”
The bio-pic epidemic is getting eminently contagious. Films based on real-life characters have begun to flood Hindi cinema, though not too many of them are about female characters. Changing that around is Karan Johar who is all set to produce a bio-pic on the Indian Air force’s female pilot Gunjan Saxena who was enormously active during the Indian army’s presence at the Kargil war.
Janhvi has already started her prep for the film. The actress recently met Gunjan, to understand her mannerisms. The title and the director for the biopic are yet to be decided. The film is expected to go on floors sometime next year. But, it still remains to be seen whether it will commence before or after ‘Takht’.
The actor will essay the role of a spy in the film, which is being modelled on the highly-acclaimed Bourne series. Our source added, “She will undergo rigorous training and perform some heavy-duty stunts.”
This will be Janhvi’s fourth film with Dharma Productions. She made her debut with ‘Dhadak’ and has already been signed for the multi-starrer period drama ‘Takht’, which will be directed by Karan himself!
