Kiara Advani has been the talk of the town following Kabir Singh. The actress who played “Kabir ki bandi” aka Preeti in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial caught everyone’s eye with her demure character. While there were criticisms over her role, there were also fans who showered her with love. Following the release, Kabir Singh broke many records this year to become the biggest blockbuster of 2019. One month since its release, Kiara took to Instagram to thank her team and fans. She shared a picture from the June release and poured her heart out in the post.
She began by expressing her thoughts over playing the “shy, demure, and basically the complete opposite” of her. She went on to express that she saw Preeti’s “strength, conviction, her love and her passion and couldn’t help but feel for the love story.” She then gave a shout out to her co-star Shahid Kapoor.
She wrote, “Kabir, aka @shahidkapoor my costar, confidant and friend through this journey who completed and made this story so real and believable. Already missing your craziness mama, couldn’t have been luckier to work together on this special film.” She also praised her director Sandeep for his efforts. “Sandeep Sir, the OG! His conviction to stay true to his story and make it so unapologetically, his passion for films, his craziness and honesty gave us the opportunity to play characters that were flawed, imperfect and so real that you can’t stop yourself from feeling for them.”

Shahid Kapoor called Kabir Singh his most flawed but most loved character. The film was, however, cricitised from a large section of the viewers and critics for glorifying toxic masculinity.
