Avengers Endgame is little over two months away from hitting theatres. While we unabashedly love the cast of the film and the roles they play, especially the original six, we wonder if the franchise was to be made in India, who among the current working actors will fit the bill and be able step into the shoes of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemswoth, Scarlett Johansson and others.

Here’s our list of 10 actors who could star in a desi version of Avengers Endgame:

Ranveer Singh as Iron Man

This may sound bizarre to fans , but we feel the Simmba actor has this one locked. While he is no RDJ on the big-screen, but Ranveer has the quick wit, the arrogance and the charm to pull a Tony Stark on-screen for sure. We can say that with even more confidence after watching Simmba that he can play a guy with a mouth and ‘action’ has become his middle name after starring in a Rohit Shetty film.

Ranbir Kapoor as Captain America

Casting Captain America is always difficult. One has to keep in mind that whoever plays the ‘first Avenger’ on the big-screen has to have poise and a sense of leadership, in his performances. We chose Ranbir Kapoor for the role. While, we could have gone for the Khans or even Akshay Kumar would have been a great choice. But we are focussing on the new generation of actors. Ranbir’s performance in Raajneeti made us tilt towards him, especially the way he lead that film and the composed demeanor that he portrayed so eloquently are qualities that Cap also has.

Prabhas as Thor

This is a no brainer, isn’t it? Anyone who has watched the Baahubali films can attest to the fact that we won’t get a better fit for the ‘God of Thunder’. What Prabhas portrayed on the big-screen in the Baahubali films was no less than what Thor has done in the Avengers, figuratively speaking. Add to that, he has the physical appearance, which is almost as menacing as Chris Hemsworth.

Sanjay Dutt as Thanos

While we would have gone with Amitabh Bachchan as he seems like the natural choice to play and every menacing character, but we chose to go with Sanju instead. Why? Because no one understand a grey character better than Sanju – be it on the big screen or in real-life. We feel Sanjay Dutt would bring a version of Thanos, just as menacing as Josh Brolin.

Rajkummar Rao as The Incredible Hulk

For this one we didn’t needed someone who could look like he has 7 PHDs and is a super smart scientist and our pick was Rajkummar Rao. Not just because he can pull off the intense acting required to play the Hulk, but he also looks fragile enough, physically, as Bruce Banner is as a character.

Alia Bhatt as Black Widow

Alia has both the body and the acting chops to play a complex character such as Black Widow. While there is no equivalent and never will be one for Scarlett Johansson and how she had owned the character over the years, but we feel Alia’s version of Natasha Romanov would be just as intriguing.

Deepika Padukone as Captain Marvel

Another no brainer was to cast Deepika Padukone as Captain Marvel. Her screen presence, overall demeanor, both on the big-screen and in real-life, her physical appearance and leadership abilities make her the perfect one to replace Brie Larson as the desi version of Captain Marvel.

Vicky Kaushal as Hawkeye

A rising star in Bollywood, Vicky is our pick to play Hawkeye in the ‘desi version’ of Avengers. He is a compelling actor, who has shown immense range in his films and we feel he can portray the intense moments and emotions that we’ll get to see Jeremy Renner do in the upcoming Avengers: Endgame. Add to that, he looks physically capable and believable to play a martial-arts trained archer.

Ayushnmann Khurrana as Ant-Man

This one was tough. In fact, we deliberated between Ayushmann and his brother Aparshakti, because Ant-Man is more of a comc-relief character in the Avengers movies. However, we went with Ayushmann because in the Ant-Man movies there were also intense and dramatic scenes and we know Ayushmann can do those better than most, just see his films Badhaai Ho, Andhadhun or better yet Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

Ishaan Khatter as Spider-Man

While we know that Peter Parker aka Spider-Man got dusted after Thanos snapped his fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, but we know he comes back since Marvel already dropped the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer. So, with that sentiment we chose Ishaan Khatter to play the friendly  neighbourhood superhero. Why? Well, he clearly has the acting chops, look innocent and does stunts for fun – just check out his Instagram videos. What else do you need for someone to play Spidey.
