Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput parted ways with his longtime girlfriend, the grapevine was abuzz with rumours that he had found love in his Raabta co-star Kriti Sanon. In fact, it was being said that Sushant’s growing proximity with Kriti drove a wedge between him and Ankita.
Sushant and Kriti went blue in the face denying the link-up rumours. However, their frequent dates, long drives and romantic getaways seemed to suggest that there was a romance brewing between them.
While promoting Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya, Sushant was asked by an entertainment website what is the one thing he would like to steal from Kriti. “Surname bohot achcha hai,” he said, revealing that he would like to steal the Sanon surname.
Speculation was rife that Sushant and Kriti called it quits sometime last year to focus on their respective careers. When the actress was asked about the same, she told a newspaper, “Maine bhi bahot kuch padha hai, it’s like a daily soap.”
Kriti added, “Sushant and I are friends and we recently recently met at Dino’s [Dinesh Vijan] wedding. I’m fond of him and we are really good friends. It’s always going to be like that.”
Currently, Sushant and Kriti are gearing up for a box office clash. Sushant is awaiting the release of Abhishek Chaubey’s dacoit drama Sonchiriya. Set in the 1970s, the film is based in a small town where multiple gangs fight among themselves for power. Sonchiriya, which also features Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in key roles, is scheduled to hit the theatres on March 1.
Meanwhile, Kriti will be seen next on the big screen with Luka Chuppi, which releases on the same day. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film revolves around Guddu (Kartik Aaryan) and Rashmi (Kriti Sanon), a young couple who decide to give live-in relationships a try. However, things go out of hand when their families get involved.
